In this comprehensive review, we investigate the intricate mechanisms of cardiotoxicity induction by citalopram/escitalopram, with a special focus on their interactions with ion channels like Kv11.1, Nav1.5, and Cav1.2 which may contribute to QTc-prolongation, increasing the risk of life-threatening arrhythmias such as Torsades de Pointes (TdP). This evidence concerns the gene CACNA1C and torsades de pointes.
