Glycaemic, insulin, and lipid disorders as metabolic risk factors, play a vital role in the onset and development of CVD.(4–7) In addition to genetic factors, several environmental factors including, smoking, sedentary lifestyle and imbalanced dietary intake are important factors contributing to increase CVD risk factors.(8,9) Therefore, interventions targeting modification of this risk factors such as hyperglycaemia, impaired insulin secretion, hyperlipidaemia and hypertension, are of significant importance in prevention and treatment of CVD.(10).
