Subsequently, it was reported that IGF2BP1 was overexpressed in many cancers, particularly in colorectal cancer (Kuhn et al. 2022; Ross et al. 2001), hepatocellular carcinoma (Cai et al. 2021), gallbladder cancer (Kessler et al. 2017), and breast cancer (Wang et al. 2023b; Zhu et al. 2021), and is associated with a poor clinical outcome and shorter survival.
