While AMD remains the biggest cause of visual impairment in many countries, accounting for approximately 50% of total registration, studies have shown that registration had decreased after the introduction of anti‐VEGF treatment (Bloch et al., 2012; Bunce et al., 2015; Jeffery, Mukhtar, Lopez, et al., 2021; Purola et al., 2023; Rees et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and age-related macular degeneration.
