Gotesdyner et al. conducted a case-control study to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a structured graduated exposure protocol (SGEP) using extensively heated baked egg (EHBE) to promote tolerance in 39 children under 2 years old with IgE-mediated HEA diagnosed by OFC or by positive SPT and/or positive IgE along with a clinical history of an immediate allergic reaction after exposure to cooked (CE) or fried egg (FE) in the past year.
