Also, we studied the anti-lung cancer mechanism of chia seed hydroethanolic extract and petroleum ether extracts by examining the effect of chia seed materials on (i) inflammation (Interleukin 6 and Interleukin 1 beta (IL-6 and IL-1β, the pro-inflammation biomarkers), (ii) angiogenesis (vascular epithelial growth factor, VEGF, the angiogenic biomarker), (iii) apoptosis (B-cell leukemia/lymphoma two protein (BCL2), the anti-apoptotic biomarker), (iv) proliferation (Antigen Kiel 67 (Ki67) biomarker), and (v) oxidative stress. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and lung cancer.
