In models of epilepsy, the effect of GW0742 on pro-inflammatory cytokine gene expression has not been previously studied; however, in other neuropathological models, administration of GW0742 has been shown to inhibit the enhanced expression of Il1b and Tnfa genes in brain cells induced by intracerebral hemorrhage and whole brain irradiation [39,80]. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and epilepsy.
