VEGFA and Genetic thrombotic microangiopathy: VEGF may have a pathological role, as suggested by previous studies of drug-induced thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) resulting from treatment with VEGF inhibitors (such as bevacizumab) or VEGF receptor blockers (tyrosine kinase inhibitors, such as pazopanib and sunitinib) [52,53,54,55].
