Furthermore, individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2D) displayed increased concentrations of Gal-3 (p = 0.02) compared to those without T2D, and those with high disease activity (DAS28-ESR ≥ 3.2) demonstrated higher levels of Gal-3 (p = 0.04) than patients with low disease activity (DAS28-ESR < 3.2).
