The insertion of an adenine in exon 6 of TARDBP (c.1121-1122InA) in one ALS patient from a French cohort resulted in a premature stop codon p.Tyr374Ter and the production of a truncated protein corresponding to an N-terminal fragment of the protein (NTF1-374) [41]. Here, TARDBP is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
