The most prevalent hereditary types of thrombophilia associated with preeclampsia are factor V Leiden mutation and genetic polymorphism of folate metabolism pathway-related genes (methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) enzymes) [15,16,19,20,21]. The gene discussed is MTRR; the disease is preeclampsia.
