Currently, the NCCN guidelines strongly advise testing NSCLC for epidermal growth factor (EGFR), anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS), rearranged during transfection proto-oncogene (RET), MET proto-oncogene (MET) exon 14 skipping, v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1 (BRAF), and neurotropic tyrosine kinase receptor kinase (NTRK) mutations, all of which have approved targeted therapies [5]. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
