These significant associations partly support previously published studies that investigated patients with triple-negative disease; however, it may indicate that a subgroup of ER-negative/PgR-negative/HER2-positive patients may be of additional interest, particularly in light of studies investigating PTK7 as a therapeutic target in triple-negative breast cancer [7,8,9,10]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
