IL-6 is produced by a variety of cell types, including cancer cells, fibroblasts, immune cells, and endothelial cells [53], and its expression is increased in a variety of cancers [54], especially in the serum of liver cancer patients [55], and it is a cytokine that is closely associated with poor prognosis in HCC and is involved in HCC progression [56,57].
