Notably, proteins such as IL-6 [4, 6, 8, 10–15] identified in the group without T2D, FGF-23 [4, 8–15], TRAIL-R2 [4, 11–15], and GDF-15 [4–6, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15] identified in both groups with and without T2D in the present study, emerge as the most reported proteins for all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
