Regarding RNA editing, an adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) modification of AZIN1 transcripts mediated by ADAR proteins leads to a serine-to-glycine substitution at residue 367 (S367G), altering the AZIN1 structure and enhancing its activity, which drives pathogenesis in HCC [154]. Here, AZIN1 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
