In an experiment utilizing an HDM-induced allergic rhinitis mouse model, brief exposure to SO2 not only augmented nasal symptom severity but also elevated serum Immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels and increased the infiltration of eosinophils in allergic rhinitis mice, alongside up-regulated expression of Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokines in the nasal mucosa.
