CD163 and acute respiratory distress syndrome: Although Ly6lo macrophages showed no significant difference over the time course of ALI (Figure 2d) in our study, the percentage of the anti‐inflammatory M2‐like macrophages (CD206+CD163+) showed a trend towards increase in the later times of ALI, from 30.5 ± 11.1% on day 3 of ALI to 52.7 ± 9.7% on day 10 of ALI (p = 0.09, Figure 3a).
