According to a recent meta- analysis, GLP-1 RAs decreased the risk of MACEs by 14%, with a hazard ratio (HR) of 0.86 (95% CI, 0.80–0.93; P < 0.0001), all-cause mortality by 12% [HR, 0.88 (95% CI, 0.82–0.94); P = 0.0001], and hospital admission for heart failure by 11% [HR, 0.89 (95% CI, 0.82–0.98); P = 0.013] in patients with diabetes (29). This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and diabetes mellitus.
