In a multivariable logistic analysis, cord blood eosinophils were associated with bronchiolitis hospitalisation both normalised by CD45+ cells (aOR = 1.35, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.70, P = 0.011) and in absolute numbers (aOR = 1.02, 95% CI 1.00 to 1.03, P = 0.024), with an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.943 and 0.935 (respectively, Table 2, Supplementary figure 2a) with an optimal cut point sensitivity of 66.7% and 96.3% specificity. The gene discussed is PTPRC; the disease is bronchiolitis.
