InfoHiC could predict SE hijacking events of cancer-related genes from complex SVs such as MYC and PVT1 in SKBR3, which play an oncogenic role in various cancers (Jin et al, 2019a), as well as GNA13 in BT474, which is upregulated and associated with poor outcomes in breast cancer (Jin et al, 2019b). SE hijacking events were confirmed by Hi-C experiments using the InfoHiC validation scheme (Appendix Fig. S5). This evidence concerns the gene GNA13 and breast carcinoma.
