In models of cisplatin-induced AKI, the expression of key enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolism, namely, carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1), long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACADL, also known as LCAD), and medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (MCAD), is notably reduced [12,16]. This evidence concerns the gene ACADL and acute kidney injury.
