Previous studies have reported upregulation of CRYBB2 expression in various ocular pathologies, including age-related macular degeneration (Johnson et al., 2005; Umeda et al., 2005), glaucomatous neuropathy (Prokosch et al., 2013), cauterization-induced ocular hypertension in rats (Prokosch et al., 2013), and ocular hypertension in rats (Chiu et al., 2010; Johnson et al., 2005). The gene discussed is CRYBB2; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
