AGFG1 and infection: Studies have shown that translocated EspH induces host cell cytotoxicity and inhibits transient filopodia formation, functions attributed to Rho GTPase inhibition.17 Infection of HeLa cells with EPEC-ΔespH/pEspHE37A or EPEC-ΔespH/pEspHK41A did not affect host cell cytotoxicity (Figure 7a) or filopodia repression (Figure 7b) compared to EspHwt infected cells, suggesting that Rab binding by EspH is not involved in these processes.
