Regarding LUSC, there is a study establishing the association between ESRG overexpression and resistance to chemotherapy implying the gene regulatory networks (GRNs) [25]; this is due to the fact that ESRG as lncRNAs have been proven to contribute to anticancer therapy resistance [26], and the existence of the ESRG in the GRN emphasizes the presence of cancer stem cells in the cancer population, which are known to induce resistance to chemotherapy [27].
