The results showed that anemic women had significantly lower levels of HGB, HCT, MCV, iron, ferritin, and transferrin saturation and higher levels of WBC, RDW, TIBC, and positivity of CRP compared to non-anemic pregnant women, suggesting that anemia in pregnancy is associated with a significant disorder in hematological and iron indices due to ID [16]. The gene discussed is TF; the disease is anemia (phenotype).
