Mechanistically, activated adenosine triphosphate binding cassette subfamily C member 1 (ABCC1)/MRP1 by Nrf2 gives rise to the phenomenon known as collateral sensitivity in glioblastoma, where MRP1 channels export GSH and GSH-bonded TMZ out of cells, bringing about higher sensitivity to ferroptosis149. Here, ABCC1 is linked to glioblastoma.
