The research identified the existence of CD4+TCRγδ+ cells, defined as CD4 + TCRγδ + FoxP3 +, in individuals affected by leprosy. These cells manifest the ability to suppress immune responses. People with the PB type of leprosy, with high serum titers of IFN-γ and IL-17, points out that these individuals can still stimulate the immune response, the same does not occur in people MB. The gene discussed is FOXP3; the disease is leprosy.
