ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma: While it seems not so long ago, it was 2006 when clinical trials with crizotinib began, and 2007 when the first patient with NSCLC harboring an ALK mutation was enrolled (about 5% of NSCLC harbor an ALK mutation).6,7 Eighteen years later, the results of the CROWN trial (Abstract LBA8503)8 comparing lorlatinib to crizotinib in 296 patients with untreated ALK-positive advanced NSCLC were presented.
