Importantly, ACKR4 was previously found to inhibit the growth and metastasis of breast, cervical, colorectal, hepatocellular, and nasopharyngeal cancer cells (Feng et al., 2009; Hou et al., 2013; Ju et al., 2019; Shi et al., 2015; Zhu et al., 2014), although no report mentioned any sex-specific bias for cancers occurring in both sexes. Here, ACKR4 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
