TREM2 and Alzheimer disease: We replicated the APOE e4 risk allele and additionally the same markers of the ten known AD loci (Bellenguez et al., 2022; Kunkle et al., 2021) – ABCA7, ANK3, CLU, FERMT2, GRN, PRDM7, RASGEF1C, SEC61G, SORL1, and TREM2. APOE ε4 allele is the major risk factor for AD in almost all populations, but its effect differs among different ancestral populations (Farrer et al., 1997).
