ELISA assays to detect P. falciparum CSP protein were performed on the head and thorax of 2,108 specimens of individual female Anopheles mosquitoes collected by both CDC LT (79.6%, n = 1678) and PSC (20.4%, n = 430) methods to ascertain the malaria parasite infection rates in the study sites.
