Forty-two (67%) participants would render a diagnosis of an oncocytoma in an oncocytic tumor with classical oncocytoma morphology and diffuse positivity for KIT in the complete absence of keratin 7 staining; 14 (22%) would be cautious and stated that this statement would qualify only on a resection specimen and not on a core needle biopsy. This evidence concerns the gene KRT7 and oncocytic neoplasm.
