GGT can be secreted by bile duct endothelial cells, and serum GGT can be increased in several conditions, including liver injury and cholangitis.[27] Xu Wang reported that the serum GGT concentration is positively correlated with the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein.[25] In this study, univariate logistic regression analysis also found that serum GGT was positively correlated with a greater risk of PLA, which is in line with previous reports on GGT. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is cholangitis.
