Overexpression of PCSK9 has been observed in several cancer types indicating that PCSK9 holds promise as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker, such as colorectal cancer (Wang et al., 2022; Wong et al., 2022), hepatocellular carcinoma (Jin et al., 2023), and gastric cancer (Xu et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and gastric cancer.
