Among these significantly changed proteins were common markers of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure including upregulation of atrial natriuretic peptide (NPPA) (30), skeletal muscle alpha-actin (ACTA1) (31), four-and-a-half LIM domain protein 1 (FHL1) (31), and myosin heavy chain 7 (MYH7) (32), and downregulation of four-and-a-half LIM domain protein 2 (FHL2) (33) (Additional file 1: Supplemental Table 1 and Additional file 3). The gene discussed is ACTA1; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
