Suggested a synergistic relationship between COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s disease as both are associated with increased levels of inflammatory markers, APOE-4ε, ACE2, and oxidative stress that are involved in cognitive impairment. Forty patients with Alzheimer’s disease during five weeks of confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic experienced increased levels of agitation, apathy, and impaired motor activity. Video calls from loved ones resulted in higher levels of satisfaction. Here, ACE2 is linked to COVID-19.
