EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Of note, the ADJUVANT/CTONG 1104 study had post hoc analysis evaluating receiving gefitinib vs. vinorelbine and cisplatin chemotherapy in patients with resected EGFR-mutation positive stage II–IIIA NSCLC and showed that gefitinib compared to vinorelbine and cisplatin did slow down the median time to disease recurrence, but that recurrence did increase at a constant rate 12 months post-surgery, and unfortunately, gefitinib did not have a lower percentage of CNS recurrence compared to vinorelbine and cisplatin [104].
