The apoptotic protease-activating factor 1 (APAF1)-binding lncRNA (ABL) promotes proliferation and drug resistance in gastric cancer by blocking apoptosis and caspase activation, by binding to APAF1 and inhibiting the interaction with cytochrome c; intriguingly, encapsulated liposomal siRNAs targeting ABL reestablished sensitivity to chemotherapy [85]. The gene discussed is APAF1; the disease is gastric cancer.
