The first‐line treatment of diabetic nephropathy is to treat and control diabetes (e.g. insulin, metformin, glucagon‐like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RA), and glucose co‐transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT‐2i)) and high blood pressure (e.g., angiotensin‐converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs)).
