EFCAB7 and hepatocellular carcinoma: In the TCGA cohort, it was found that EFCAB7 was upregulated in liver cancer tissues compared with normal liver tissues (Figure 1C) and high expression of EFCAB7 was correlated with poor clinical prognosis in HCC patients (P=0.03, Figure 1D), implying that EFCAB7 might function as an oncogene during liver cancer development and protect liver cancer cells from heat injury during RFA.
