In view of the incomplete data on the impact of the polymorphism associated with lactose intolerance on the risk of developing type-2 diabetes and bone mineral density, the aim of this reported study was to perform genetic profiling and assess the significance of the rs4988235 variant of the MCM6 gene associated with the occurrence of lactose intolerance in a group described as RAC–OCT–POL, i.e., randomly selected menopausal women belonging to the population of the Upper Silesia in Poland. Here, MCM6 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
