GNRH1 and cancer: Apart from the physiological expression of the GnRH-R in the pituitary and reproductive organs such as myometrium or ovaries, GnRH and its receptors are also detected in cancer cells, including the ovarian ones, leading to the speculation that GnRH plays an autocrine/paracrine role in these cells, regulating proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis [3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12].
