Diverse antiseizure drugs (ASDs), such as levetiracetam (LEV), brivaracetam and perampanel, are used for the treatment of epilepsy and have recently shown antioxidant properties related to their antiseizure and neuroprotective effects, decreasing lipid oxidation and increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and catalase (CAT) activities [9,10]. This evidence concerns the gene SOD1 and epilepsy.
