P4ha1 protects nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells from erastin-induced ferroptosis by activating cytoplasmic 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA synthase (HMGCS1), suggesting it may be a novel molecular marker of NPC ferroptosis resistance that results in poor prognosis, and that the P4ha1/HMGCS1 axis may be a new target for the treatment of NPC progression [49]. Here, P4HA1 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
