Using fresh-frozen samples to quantify pks DNA levels, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) specimens for evaluating the TIME and clinical data of serum CRP levels and metastatic organs involved in recurrence after R0 metastasectomy were used to explore the potential role of pks+ E. coli in the complex dynamics of CRC liver metastasis. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
