Recently, we showed that ST6 beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1 (ST6GAL1) and larger branched sialylated N-glycans are upregulated in men with prostate cancer, and this can promote tumour growth and the spread of tumours to bone [52,77]. The gene discussed is ST6GAL1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
