There were significant associations between the following proteins and PAD diagnosis after adjusting for all of the baseline characteristics (sex, age, dyslipidemia, hypertension, past/current smoking, diabetes, CAD, CHF, previous stroke, statins, ASA, beta-blocker, ACE-I or ARB, calcium channel blocker, furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide, insulin, and oral antihyperglycemic agents): CD95 (adjusted OR 2.63 [95% CI 1.73–3.99], p = 0.001) and fractalkine (adjusted OR 2.58 [95% CI 1.63–3.90], p = 0.001) (Table 3). The gene discussed is ACE; the disease is congestive heart failure.
