In mouse insulin resistance, it has been shown that a hepatic selective insulin resistance is due to an imbalance of Irs1 and Irs2 expression; while Irs2 is downregulated and insulin‐mediated suppression of gluconeogenesis is impaired, Irs1 is overexpressed and an uncontrolled increase in hepatic lipogenesis persists (Kubota et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene IRS2 and Insulin resistance.
