To conduct a positive control, T2DM GWAS data were selected as outcome data and analyzed using MR with SLC5A2. As shown in Table 2, the MR results indicated that a 1-SD increase in HbA1c regulated by SLC5A2 was associated with an 83% increase in the risk of T2DM (IVW OR 1.83, 95% CI: 1.180-2.846, p = 0.007). This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
